Prema zvanicnim podatcima Makedonske policije , oko 400 000 izbeglica je preslo Grcko - Makedonsku granicu od Juna 2015 do 31 Decembra 2015.Policija je pokusavala da uvede neki red na samom granicnom prelazu ali nekoliko puta se ispostavilo da je zelja izbeglica da stigne u zemljama EU veca od bilo kojih policijskih stitova.Prave bitke su se vodile za mesto u vozu koji je nosio izbeglice iz Gevgelije do Srpske granice. Niko nije hteo da saceka naredni voz, svi su hteli da nadzu mesto odmah i sto pre stigne do svoje obecane zemlje. Krajem godine, u Novembru, Makedonska vlada je donela odluku da ne propusta sve izbeglice. Mogli su da prodzu samo oni koji dolaze is Sirije, Iraka i Avganistana.Ostal su jako tesko primili ovu pdluku.Grupa migranta iz Irana su protestovali zbog toga, neki od njih su zasili svoja usta i gladovali nedelju dana ali ipak nisu dobili dozvolu da predzu granicu.
