SARAJEVO, January 27th, 2018. – Winners of the 2017 Balkan Photo Award has been announced at National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. BPA contest is held as part of the Balkan Photo Festival (BPF). The jury consisting of 13 members: Bénédicte Kurzen (Jury Chair), Jim Casper (editor-in-chief at Lensculture), Máximo Panés (editor-in-chief at Dodho Magazine), Maral Deghati (Manager Education at the World Press Photo Foundation), Ana Frangovska (curator at National Gallery of Macedonia), Damir Senčar (Picture Editor/Photographer at HINA, Croatian News Agency), Marko Marinković (freelance photographer), Imre Szabo(photojournalist), Burim Myftiu (photographer), Senad Šahmanović (movie director), Aleksandra Nina Knežević (designer), Ahmed Burić (journalist and writer), Miro Majcen (photographer), has selected the BPA winners in 10 categories:
GRAND PRIX AWARD – the overall contest winner and the winner in the category “Daily life”: Željko Budimir Keko for his photograph “Life”. Željko received a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV dSLR camera, a gift from our general sponsor, Canon Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Edvin Kalić is the winner in the “Fashion” category and the winner of a special Festival recognition. Edvin was awarded for his photograph “Bold” with a Sony A6500 camera, a gift from our golden sponsor Sony Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Vladimir Živojinović is the winner in the “Cultural Heritage” category and the winner of a special Festival recognition. Vladimir was awarded for his photograph “Dimitrije Tucović” with a Canon EOS 77D dSLR, a gift from our golden sponsor AvteraBH.
