SARAJEVO, January 29, 2016. – The winners of the Balkan Photo Award 2015 contest, which is held as part of the Balkan Photo Festival, were announced in a crowded atmosphere of the Sarajevo City Hall. The jury consisting of no less than 12 members: Paul Lowe (jury head), Amel Emrić, Stoyan Nenov, Ivana Tomanović, Jože Suhadolnik, Jetmir Idrizi, Duško Miljanić, Yannis Kontos, Osman Orsal, Iva Prosoli, Petrut Calinescu and Žarko Ivanov, selected the winners in seven categories:
Canon Grand Prix – the overall contest winner and the winner of category “Photo Reportage”.
Marko Risović – (UN)Welcome, was awarded by a Canon EOS 5DS R, a gift from our general sponsor Canon Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Sony Award was awarded to Slave Lichovski for a remarkable achievement in the competition and a winning place in as many as three categories (two individual photographs and a reportage); Lichovski was also awarded a camera Sony RX100 IV, a gift from our sponsor Sony Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As for“News and Events”, the award named after our late colleague Danilo Krstanović was awarded to Fadil Šarki for his photo “Refugees in Slavonian Fields”.
The award is Canon EOS M10 with 15-45mm lens, a gift from our sponsor AVTERABH.
The award in the category of Nature and Environment was won by Damir Senčar, for his photograph “Flood in Gunja”. Our sponsor Imtec provided a Canon EOS M10 with 15-45mm lens.
As for the Creative Photography category the jury has decided on a photograph captured by Jure Vukadin and titled “Dream Academia”. Our sponsor R&S provided the award in the form of a Canon EOS M10 (15-45mm).
The best portrait in jury’s opinion was created by Matic Zorman, and the photograph is titled “Give me liberty or give me death”. The sponsor Tehnomag awarded him with a Canon EOS M10 (15-45mm).
Ištvan Kerekeš won the Everyday Life category with his photograph “Life in Balkans” and received a Canon EOS M10 (15-45mm) from our sponsor KimTec.
